Polish medtech startup Quantum Innovations has secured €9.5 million (PLN 41 million) led by Vinci IQ ASI, with participation from Medtech Holding. With this capital, Quantum Innovations plans to establish a production line and undertake necessary regulatory and clinical studies
- Founded by Grzegorz Suwalski and Przemysław Furdal, Quantum Innovations develops medical technology to enhance safety in cardiac surgery, cardiology, and pulmonary medicine. Focusing on high-volume treatments that significantly impact population health, they aim to improve outcomes in these crucial medical areas.
- Headquartered in Warsaw, Quantum utilizes scientific methodology to monitor the global market, population, public health dynamics, medicine progress, and incoming technologies, collaborating with universities, laboratories, and medical device manufacturers.
- Quantum Innovations has developed two medical technologies: Heart Sense, a probe designed to enhance safety during cardiac surgery, and Heart Guard, a system for continuous cardiac metabolism measurement.
Details of the deal
- The fresh funding round was led by Vinci IQ ASI, a fund established by Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, which invests in early research and scientific projects.
“The solutions proposed by QI may address an unaddressed gap in clinical management during cardiac surgery. Introducing solutions to the medical standard has the potential to significantly reduce complications and, consequently, the number of perioperative deaths related to heart surgery,” President of the management board of Vinci SA and manager of the Vinci IQ ASI fund, Piotr Woliński, commented.
- Existing investor Medtech Holding, a Warsaw-based investment management firm, also participated in the round.
- The capital will be used to establish its production line, conduct regulatory and clinical tests, obtain certification, and expand into major global markets.
