SKY ENGINE AI has secured a $7 million Series A investment led by Cogito Capital Partners. Edge VC, Taiwania Capital, Movens Capital, and High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) also joined the round.
- Founded in 2018 by Bartek Wlodarczyk and Jakub Pietrzak, SKY ENGINE AI develops a simulation and deep learning platform that generates fully annotated, multimodal synthetic data, provides advanced domain adaptation methods and trains AI computer vision algorithms at scale. It is a tool for data scientists, ML/software engineers creating computer vision projects in any industry.
- According to the startup, its technology enables production of smarter and more accurate AI models, and offers improved project economics, all without requiring developers to leave their desks to gather relevant data. Renault, Scania, Ericsson, Samsung, and Syngenta already use SKY ENGINE AI solution.
- The Series A round was led by Cogito Capital Partners, a Warsaw and New York-based venture capital firm that is focuses on backing later-stage European deeptech B2B companies and operate in enterprise software/data analytics, fintech and healthtech sectors. Within the deal, Martin Jasinski, General Partner at Cogito, joins SKY ENGINE AI’s board of directors.
- Existing investors including Movens Capital and High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) also participated in the round.
The pedigree of our investors speaks for itself: their experiences in scaling businesses that focus on vision AI will be indispensable at a time where similarly synthetic data is bringing so much immediate value in the real world. SKY ENGINE AI’ mission is to augment deep learning teams to create AI models that generalize better against unknown real-world data and with reduced algorithmic biases. - Dr Bartek Wlodarczyk, CEO and Founder of SKY ENGINE AI, says.
- The startup plans to allocate the fresh investment into the product’s further growth, expanding their team, technology, and solidifying market position.
