Polish marketplace that connects pet owners with local petsitters Petsy raises €1.1M

Polish startup Petsy, which operates a marketplace connecting pet owners with local petsitters offering pet care services, has raised €1.1 million to enhance pet care and expand across Europe, as Vestbee was told. The funding was provided by more than 30 business angels, including Piotr Wawrysiuk, founder of PsiBufet, along with a group of private investors linked to Cobin Angels.

  • Founded in 2020 by Michał Wojewoda and Bartek Sobota, Petsy develops a platform that connects pet owners with local, verified petsitters, offering a safe and reliable way to leave pets in trusted hands.
  • The startup enables owners to browse local petsitter profiles while providing petsitters with tools to attract and manage clients. Each booking includes a free Petsy Care package, offering liability insurance, veterinary assistance, and behaviorist support for peace of mind.

"We ensure the highest level of service and safety, which is why every petsitter on our platform - of which there are now over 3,000 - has undergone a three-step verification process, including an interview with our animal behaviorist. This way, our clients can be confident that they are leaving their pets in good hands," CGO and co-founder of Petsy, Bartek Sobota, stated in a press release.

  • Petsy operates in 40 cities across Poland and four in the Czech Republic, serving over 90,000 registered users on its platform.

  • The funds were raised from over 30 business angels, including Piotr Wawrysiuk, founder of PsiBufet, Adam Radzki, and a group of private investors associated with Cobin Angels, a Warsaw-based investment management firm.

"Petsy operates in one of the fastest-growing markets, and
early recognition of its potential has enabled the company to achieve its current position as the leader in petsitting in Poland. Their creativity and development strategy, combined with the ambition and determination of the entire team, will undoubtedly help them to compete for a strong position in the European pet care market in the coming years," Angel investor,  Adam Radzki, commented in a statement

  • The fresh funding will help Petsy strengthen its position in the Polish market, enhance its platform, and prepare for international expansion, starting with the Czech market. Additionally, the founders are preparing for the next funding round to grow their data science department and expand into the DACH region.
