Riga-based investment platform Mintos raises €2M from FlyCap

Riga-based investment platform Mintos, which offers both alternative and traditional investment opportunities for long-term investors, has raised €2 million in debt. The fresh funding came from FlyCap.

  • Founded in 2014 by Martins Sulte and Martins Valters, Mintos offers a user-friendly platform that enables long-term investors to grow their wealth through diversified investment options, with seamless portfolio management.
  • With offices in Riga and Berlin, Mintos has completed its expansion across all European markets, including official launches in Portugal and the Czech Republic. The startup employs a team of 150 people across 20 countries, serves 500,000 registered users, and manages €600 million in assets.
  • In August, Mintos raised €3.1 million through a crowdfunding campaign on CrowdCube, attracting over 3,300 investors from 55 countries, with significant contributions from Germany, Spain, and France; the funds will be used to expand into EU markets, enhance the platform, and improve product offerings.

Details of the deal

  • The fresh capital came from FlyCap, a Riga-based venture capital firm providing growth capital to SMEs in Latvia and Europe through equity and mezzanine investments, currently managing two funds.

"We are excited to support Mintos as they continue to grow and innovate. Their impressive track record and strategic vision position them strongly for the future, and we are confident that this funding will help drive their continued success and expansion," Partner at FlyCap, Janis Skutelis, stated.

  • Mintos will use the funds to grow its platform by attracting more customers across the EU and expanding its overall reach.

"We are pleased to secure this funding from FlyCap and appreciate their confidence in our vision. This raised capital, along with the proceeds from our successful crowdfunding efforts, will enable us to propel our growth, bring added value to existing users, and reach a wider audience of future investors," Co-founder of Mintos, Martins Sulte, commented.
