Slovenia's Leanpay, which develops BNPL 3.0 offering installment payment solutions, has secured €10 million in a Series B funding round led by BlackPeak Capital, with participation from Catalyst Romania.
- Co-founded in 2017 by Janko Medja, Tilen Zugwitz, and Misa Zivic, Leanpay develops Buy Now Pay Later 3.0, providing innovative installment payment solutions for vendors and consumers. The company focuses on making financing fair, transparent, and easy to understand. It helps boost sales by offering fixed monthly repayment plans for larger purchases, up to €12,000.
- The startup employs a team of 70, serves more than 120,000 customers and 1,500 merchants, and has issued around €103 million in loans across Serbia, Slovenia, Romania, and Hungary.
Details of the deal
- The funding round was led by BlackPeak Capital, a Bulgarian private equity firm that invests in Southeast European startups like Bianor Holding, GenePlanet, and Pick& Pack. The firm currently manages two funds with a total of €150 million in assets.

- The round also saw participation from Catalyst Romania, a Bucharest-based venture capital firm that invests in tech startups with ticket sizes ranging between €1 million and €3 million.
- The fresh funding will enable Leanpay to expand its operations, introduce innovative services, and attract top talent, thereby strengthening its market position and regional reach.
