UK-based startup Just Move In secures $8M Series A to support its European expansion

Bournemouth-based startup Just Move In simplifies home moves with utility management and API solutions for fintechs and proptechs, and has raised $8 million in a Series A funding round led by Eos Ventures, with support from Wayra and Second Century Ventures.

  • Founded in 2015 by Tom Old and Ross Nichols, Just Move In created a platform to simplify the setup of essential services during a move, such as council tax, water, gas, energy, broadband, and insurance.
  • The platform integrates with estate agents' CRM systems to analyze property details and offer a single service for managing all home move tasks. This approach removes the need to visit multiple websites or repeat steps, saving time and reducing stress for people moving.
  • With partnerships including Openrent, Hamptons, and Alto, Just Move In provides tailored solutions for estate and letting agencies, helping them offer added value to customers while generating commissions. The company now handles over 300,000 moves in the UK, making up nearly 10% of the market.
  • In 2022, the firm raised $5 million in a seed funding round led by Longbrook Ventures and Love Ventures. The funds were allocated to develop further and automate its technology platform, improving its ability to streamline the home move process for customers.

Details of the deal

  • The investment was led by Eos Ventures, a London-based venture capital firm that invests in companies across the insurance value chain and related sectors.
  • The round also saw participation from UK-based VC Wayra, Second Century Ventures, a Chicago-based firm, The FSE Group, and business angels like Simon Rogerson and Chris Hulatt.
  • The $8 million in funding will help Just Move In expand its home setup services, integrate embedded financial products, scale operations, and support its European expansion.
