UK healthtech startup Healsgood secures £1.5M to tackle staffing gaps in healthcare

UK-based healthtech startup Healsgood, which focuses on helping NHS hospitals tackle staffing gaps and long waiting lists, has secured £1.5 million in funding from Fuel Ventures.

  • Founded in 2023 by Aliya Irgaleeva, Jack Henderson, and Matthew Heslam, Healsgood uses AI and Big Data to streamline recruitment for healthcare providers, agencies, and professionals. Flexzo AI connects healthcare workers with flexible shifts and locum positions, eliminating agencies and reducing paperwork.
  • Healthcare professionals can sign up, share their availability, and get matched with job openings through AI, allowing them to choose shifts that fit their schedules. Healsgood also provides free qualification validation and appraisals to make recruitment easier and more efficient.

Details of the deal

  • The investment was backed by Fuel Ventures, a London-based venture capital firm that invests in early-stage tech startups with ticket sizes typically between £250,000 and £3 million.
  • Healsgood will use the £1.5 million funding to expand its team, enhance the Flexzo AI platform, grow its talent pool of healthcare professionals, and accelerate adoption across more NHS trusts.

"Thank you for the vote of confidence Oli Hammond and Fuel Ventures for too long the NHS has been paying over the odds to plug gaps in staffing rotas and all too often these endeavours are unsuccessful in reducing patient waiting times," claims Jack Henderson, CEO of Healsgood.
