Dutch scouting startup Findest raises €2.2M for the global expansion of its Universe platform

Amsterdam-based startup Findest, specializing in R&D software solutions for scouting, has raised €2.2 million in a funding round led by Partinc. The fresh investment will enable Findset to fuel international expansion and boost its new product offering, Universe.

  • Co-founded in 2017 by Roel Boekel and Vincent Franken, Findest develops IGOR^AI, an AI-powered search engine for technology scouting that enables R&D departments to work more effectively.
  • Findest's Universe is a productivity tool designed to streamline the capture, structuring, and reuse of R&D information. By enhancing idea-to-implementation operations, it combines the capabilities of IGOR^AI with an immersive environment for knowledge cultivation and sharing. Companies using the Universe platform report that Findest can improve their R&D output by up to 40%.”
  • The startup employs a team of 30 and has over 400 customers, including notable firms like ALTANA AG, BMW Group, Canon Inc., Decathlon, ENGIE, FrieslandCampina, GE HealthCare, HEINEKEN Entreprise, Infineon Technologies, and Johnson & Johnson.

Details of the deal 

  • The investment was led by Partinc, a Stockholm-based venture capital firm that invests in early-stage SaaS startups across Europe. With offices in Amsterdam and Stockholm, Partinc’s portfolio consists of six startups, ten investments, and one exit in TIE Kinetix.

All companies must expand the innovation of new and existing products to keep up with these goals. Therefore, new tools like Universe from Findest will be necessary to improve output and enhance the efficiency of existing R&D organizations,” Partner at Partinc, Jan Sundelin, commented. 

  • With the capital raised, Findest plans to increase its workforce from 30 to 45, grow its Universe platform, expand its operations globally, and enhance its distinctive R&D-focused AI capabilities.
