Vienna-based startup Elio, which aids pharma teams in integrating sustainability into product design and manufacturing, has raised $2 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Ananda Impact Ventures to introduce eco-design into pharma manufacturing.
- Launched in 2021 by Kamil Mroczek and Kami Krista, Elio develops an AI-powered eco-design software platform that helps pharmaceutical teams integrate sustainability into the early stages of product design and manufacturing.
- The firm uses AI to evaluate sustainable options for materials, packaging, and processes, enabling faster, more informed decisions that reduce environmental impact before production begins.
- The startup is collaborating with innovators like pharma CDMO ten23 health, Cytiva, My Green Lab, Magnus Blomberg, and others to develop eco-design solutions that promote sustainable manufacturing across the value chain.
