Czech's startup DYNANIC secures €550k from Tensor Ventures

Czech startup DYNANIC, which specializes in technology that boosts the performance and integration of programmable chips for high-speed applications like AI and virtual reality, has secured €550,000 in funding from Tensor Ventures and several business angels. This investment is the first from Tensor Ventures' newly launched second fund, as Vestbee was told.

  • Founded in 2021 by Pavol Korček, Lukáš Kekely, and Jan Kořenek, DYNANIC, formerly known as BrnoLogic, is a university spin-off of Brno University of Technology.
  • The startup develops innovative solutions that optimize programmable chips (FPGAs), enabling their efficient integration into high-performance applications like AI, virtual reality, and data centers.
  • DYNANIC simplifies FPGA programming, making it accessible to companies without specialized expertise. Their technology enhances chip performance and flexibility, allowing businesses to adapt them for various needs.
  • Licensed by major FPGA makers like Intel and AMD, DYNANIC’s solutions are used by companies such as Kakao Corp and Kaloom Networks to improve server efficiency. The startup is also developing high-speed networking solutions, including 100 Gbps and 400 Gbps cards, with plans for 800 Gbps technology.

Details of the deal

  • The fresh round of funding was backed by Tensor Ventures, a Prague-based investment firm focused on seed and Series A rounds.
  • The firm recently launched a €50 million fund, with €20 million already secured from the EIF under the National Recovery Plan. Additionally, in July, Tensor Ventures raised €1.3 million to support deep tech startups in Luxembourg and the Czech Republic.

"We believe that similar transfers from university environments can get technology to potential customers faster, and in turn, universities can raise funds from licensing or selling shares to keep top experts on their campus," Claims Ondrej Lipold, from Tensor Ventures.

  • DYNANIC will use the funds to accelerate product development, expand its market reach, and further advance its technology for programmable chips, targeting major global players in the chip industry and hyperscaler companies.
