Czech door-to-door transfer platform Daytrip raises $10M to expand into new markets

The Czech Republic-based startup Daytrip has raised $10 million in a Series B round led by Taiwania Capital. Existing investors Euroventures, J&T Ventures, and N1 also participated.

  • Founded in 2015 by Tomáš Turek, Markéta Bláhová, Valeriia Pshenychna, Jan Prokop, and Jiří Sváček, Daytrip provides private transfers with English-speaking drivers and optional sightseeing stops in more than 110 countries.
  • To date, the Daytrip platform has a network of 7,000 drivers and has helped more than 850,000 people with door-to-door transfers, the startup claims.
  • The current round follows a €6 million Series A extension Daytrip closed in February 2022. In total, the Czech startup has raised $18.8 million in funding, according to Crunchbase.
  • A leading investor in this round was Taiwania Capital, a venture capital firm that actively invests in CEE. In particular, it supported the Polish simulation and deep learning platform SKY ENGINE AI during its $7 million Series A round earlier this month.

”Daytrip’s innovative platform boasts optional sightseeing stops, enabling travelers to explore captivating destinations along their route, making every journey an adventure. Taiwania Capital's support in this funding round demonstrates our strong belief in Daytrip's mission and potential to reinvent the travel experience,” Mitch Yang, managing partner at Taiwania Capital, comments.

  • The proceeds will go towards the further development of the platform, including support for marketing activities, as well as expanding into new countries, including the United States.
