Amsterdam-based investment management firm Carbon Equity has launched the Climate Infrastructure Fund, raising €10 million from existing investors with a goal of securing €50 million. The fund aims to invest in 3 to 5 infrastructure projects.
- Founded in 2021 by Jacqueline van den Ende, Jeff Gomez, Lara Koole, and Liza Rubinstein, Carbon Equity is an investment management platform that allows investors to participate in climate venture capital and private equity funds. So far, over 900 investors have contributed more than €260 million through the platform.
"Accelerating the transition to net zero not only requires innovative climate solutions but also scaling up climate infrastructure. Venture capital and private equity help new climate technologies get off the ground, infrastructure is scaling up what is already proven to work," Carbon Equity's team, commented on LinkedIn.
- The Climate Infrastructure Fund is designed to invest in 3 to 5 climate infrastructure funds across the EU, with size tickets ranging between €500,000 to €2.5 million.
- These selected funds will support projects that deploy mature technologies to achieve significant and immediate CO2 reductions.
- The focus areas for these investments include hydrogen and biogas facilities, solar parks, EV charging stations, and battery storage systems. By targeting 40–50 projects, the fund aims to drive impactful advancements in climate infrastructure.
