London-based app for wellbeing GoJoe has secured £2.4 million in funding led by UK Venrex Partners, with participation from Redrice Ventures, Hellen's Rock Ventures, and triathlete Alistair Brownlee.
- GoJoe was founded in 2018 by Will Turner and Phil Steele. The startup is a wellbeing and health app that uses social accountability and gamification to encourage and motivate users to improve their physical, mental, and social health.
- GoJoe has around 50 different in-app features and functions, like gamified virtual team-based challenges, a weighted points system, live tracker maps, and the ability to train virtually with celebrities and professional athletes. In addition, the startup also offers health insurance and employee assistance programs from a single central location. To date, it is active in more than 150 countries.
- The leading investor, Venrex Partners, is an early-stage venture capital fund manager founded in 2002. It invests in industries like e-commerce, fashion, retail, the internet, and software with a ticket size of $1 million to $5 million. Venrez Partners has more than 115 companies in its portfolio, including Revolut, Just Eat, and Charlotte Tilbury.

The team embodies many of the characteristics of the most successful founders we've partnered with at Venrex," said Alistair Russell, Venture Investor at Venrex.
- The fresh funding is going to support GoJoe’s development of its direct-to-consumer and brand partnership products, as well as expanding its corporate offering in the US, Canada, and the UK.
