London-based VC Balderton Capital has raised two funds, including a $615 million Early Stage Fund IX and a $685 million Growth Fund II, totaling $1.3 billion to invest in European tech startups from the seed stage through IPO.
- Founded in 2000, Balderton Capital is a venture capital firm that backs European tech companies across various sectors, including AI, fintech, B2B SaaS, digital health, mobility, gaming, and marketplaces.
- The firm employs a team of 65 and has invested in more than 275 companies, including Revolut, Dream Games, GoCardless, Contentful, Aircall, Wayve, Writer, and PhotoRoom.
- Balderton Capital offers a variety of services to founders and portfolio companies, including the Balderton Platform Team, which consists of experts in legal, finance, marketing, sustainability, and more. The firm also features Executives in Residence and the Balderton Community. Additionally, it provides the Balderton Founder Wellbeing and Performance platform, which includes executive coaching, peer support, health and fitness programs, and access to a digital platform specifically for parent founders.
- The firm’s LPs include one of the largest and most prominent public state pensions in the US, and British Patient Capital, the UK's largest domestic investor in venture and growth opportunities.
