Swiss deeptech Apheros secures $1.85M to develop metal foam cooling solutions

Swiss primary metal manufacturing startup Apheros, which offers high-surface-area metal foams optimized for liquid and two-phase cooling, has secured $1.85 million in pre-seed funding.

  • Founded in 2023 by Julia Carpenter and Gaëlle Andreatta, Apheros develops metal foam technology to shift cooling methods toward more cost- and energy-efficient liquid-based solutions.
  • Apheros' manufacturing technique produces distinct foam structures with exceptional heat transfer and flow qualities. By focusing on liquid cooling, Apheros aims to address the growing demand for high-performance computing, AI, and data centers in the thermal management market.

"Ideal for high-performance cooling applications, our metal foams are easily integrated within our customers’ existing cooling systems. Our products address our customers urgent needs to reduce energy consumption and cooling costs," Apheros's team, commented on LinkedIn.
