Swiss primary metal manufacturing startup Apheros, which offers high-surface-area metal foams optimized for liquid and two-phase cooling, has secured $1.85 million in pre-seed funding.
- Founded in 2023 by Julia Carpenter and Gaëlle Andreatta, Apheros develops metal foam technology to shift cooling methods toward more cost- and energy-efficient liquid-based solutions.
- Apheros' manufacturing technique produces distinct foam structures with exceptional heat transfer and flow qualities. By focusing on liquid cooling, Apheros aims to address the growing demand for high-performance computing, AI, and data centers in the thermal management market.

Details of the deal
- The investment was led by Founderful, a Zurich-based venture capital firm specializing in pre-seed funding for Swiss tech startups. Founderful's portfolio consists of 46 startups, 78 investments, and 7 successful exits, including notable companies like Ava, Movu, and Knip.
- With the fresh capital, Apheros aims to expand production, enhance research and development, grow its team, and broaden its market reach for its state-of-the-art solutions.
