London-based startup Anam, which creates photorealistic AI avatars to enhance customer experiences across industries, has secured £1.75 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Concept Ventures, with support from Torch Capital and Anamacara.
- Founded in 2024 by Caoimhe Murphy and Ben Carr, Anam develops advanced AI-powered "digital humans" that engage in real-time, lifelike conversations, providing a more personalized and natural experience than traditional chatbots. These AI avatars are designed to understand context, express emotions, and respond with human-like nuance.
- Anam helps businesses scale personal interactions and deliver cost-effective, human-centered experiences by customizing each digital human to fit a company’s unique needs. To ensure easy access to this technology, Anam provides an API infrastructure that allows businesses to seamlessly integrate digital humans into their systems, enhancing customer interactions with minimal effort.
Details of the deal
- The pre-seed round was led by Concept Ventures, a London-based fund that invests up to £750,000 initially and up to £2 million total, supporting founders focusing on social impact through their "Venture Impact Pledge."
