UK-based Nous, an AI-powered household management platform, has raised $17 million in funding backed by Heartcore Capital and existing seed investor Mosaic Ventures, with participation from Chalfen Ventures, Joyance Partners, and Future Back Ventures by Bain & Company.
- Founded in 2022 by Greg Marsh, Nous develops an AI agent that helps households manage recurring expenses and everyday administrative tasks.
- The platform identifies cheaper deals, switches service providers, cancels subscriptions, completes forms, and flags unfavourable contract terms and costly renewals. It also helps users manage family calendars, track deadlines, find local tradespeople, and book appointments.
- Unlike tools that only provide recommendations, Nous is designed to make decisions and carry out tasks on users' behalf once authorised. The company combines large language models with rules-based systems for specific actions, particularly those involving financial decisions.
- Nous reports that nearly 250,000 households use its services, with the platform managing more than $900 million in annual household spending across categories including energy, broadband, mobile services, and car insurance.
Details of the deal
- The company also received backing from angel investors associated with Monzo, GoCardless, Founders Factory, Faculty.ai, and Onfido.
- With the fresh capital, the company plans to expand internationally, introduce additional household management capabilities, and extend its services into more spending categories and regulated financial services, including insurance.
