Stockholm-based healthtech company Tandem Health has raised $100 million in a Series B round, bringing its total funding to $160 million. The round was led by the Scaleup Europe Fund, managed by EQT, with participation from existing investors Kinnevik, Northzone, Amino Collective, and Visionaries.
- Founded in 2023 by Lukas Saari and Gustav Söderström, Tandem Health develops AI-powered software for healthcare providers. Its platform assists clinicians before, during, and after patient consultations by preparing patient summaries, generating clinical notes, suggesting diagnosis and procedure codes, creating referrals and other clinical documents, and supporting clinical decision-making.
- Tandem’s AI Medical Assistant is used by more than 10,000 care organisations across 14 European markets and supports more than 50 medical specialties. The platform is integrated with over 130 medical record systems, allowing clinicians to transfer notes, codes, and related documents directly into electronic health records.
- The company’s products include an AI Scribe, Coding Assistant, and Clinical Decision Support tool, each certified as a Class IIa medical device under the EU Medical Device Regulation.
Details of the deal
- The fresh capital will be used to accelerate the adoption of AI across European healthcare and expand Tandem’s presence in existing and new European markets.
- The company also plans to develop its AI Medical Assistant into an AI-native Clinic Operating System, adding capabilities for patient-flow management, triage, scheduling, and patient communications.
"We started Tandem to provide an alternative. Europe should be setting the standard for how AI enters healthcare, not adopting someone else’s. This funding lets us do that, bringing healthcare safely into the AI era, working in tandem with patients, clinicians, systems and nations. That’s how we’re taking care of healthcare," explains Lukas Saari, CEO and co-founder of Tandem Health.
