REGENT secures $240M to scale seaglider manufacturing

US-based maritime mobility company REGENT Craft has raised $240 million in Series B funding, co-led by Mare Liberum and AE Ventures, with Erebor Bank providing debt capital. The round brings REGENT’s total funding to $340 million across equity and debt, as Vestbee was informed.

  • Founded by Billy Thalheimer and Mike Klinker, REGENT develops Seaglider vessels that combine aircraft-like speeds with maritime convenience, operating over water using hydrofoils and wing-in-ground-effect technology.
  • The round was also backed by DCVC, Founders Fund, Caffeinated Capital, Lockheed Martin Ventures, Japan Airlines, and Giant Step Capital.
  • The funding will support full-scale manufacturing, certification milestones, and customer deliveries across REGENT’s Viceroy and Squire Seaglider platforms.
  • REGENT is preparing for the first human flight of its Viceroy prototype and the launch of production at its newly completed 255,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Rhode Island.
  • The company has secured growing defense demand, including an expanded $15 million US Marine Corps contract for Viceroy, while its autonomous Squire platform is attracting increasing military interest.
  • REGENT also has a commercial order book spanning six continents, with multiple years of manufacturing capacity already booked.
  • The company is expanding internationally through partnerships in the UAE, Poland, and Greece, targeting both defense and commercial maritime markets.
