NVIDIA plans to invest in four German startups, Agile Robots, Avelios Medical, Mirelo and Reflex Aerospace, as part of its efforts to support Europe's technology ecosystem and advance the adoption of artificial intelligence across industries.
- The announcement was made by NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang during a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Berlin on October 19, where the two discussed integrating AI into Germany's manufacturing and automotive sectors.
The four startups are:
- Founded in Munich, Agile Robots develops AI-powered robotics systems, including robotic arms and humanoid robots, for applications in manufacturing, logistics and healthcare.
- Avelios Medical, also based in Munich, develops an AI-native hospital information system designed to integrate clinical and administrative workflows, helping healthcare professionals manage hospital operations and patient care.
- Mirelo develops AI models that generate sound effects, speech and music for video content, enabling creators and production teams to produce audio that matches on-screen visuals.
- Berlin-based Reflex Aerospace designs and builds high-performance satellites, with the aim of shortening production timelines to around 12 months.
- The planned investments form part of NVIDIA's nearly $10 billion commitment to support companies, universities and research institutions across Europe. The company has previously backed German technology businesses, including n8n, Neura Robotics and Black Forest Labs.
- The announcement comes as Germany seeks to expand the use of AI across its industrial base. Earlier on October 19, the German federal government and NVIDIA signed a Joint Declaration of Intent to advance AI models for physical applications, with a focus on combining Germany's engineering and manufacturing expertise with AI technology.
