Ukrainian-Polish defence tech firm Molfar Defence Technologies, which develops tactical radar systems for detecting and tracking small UAVs in contested environments, has secured €1.5 million led by Front Ventures.
- Founded in 2026 by Maks Dzherikhov and Artem Starosiek, the company focuses on modular radar systems designed for deployment in sector or 360° configurations and integration into broader air defence networks, providing early warning and continuous tracking at the tactical level.
- Its technology combines specialised waveform design with signal-processing and target classification algorithms to distinguish small drones from background clutter, including in conditions affected by electronic warfare and adverse weather.
- Molfar also operates a defence-sector intelligence and due diligence function using OSINT-based methods to assess supply chains, corporate structures, and compliance risks for governments and defence contractors.
Details of the deal
- The funding will support the company’s transition from prototype development to field-tested operational systems, including team expansion, further radar and signal-processing development, and deployment and validation activities in Ukraine and NATO countries.
