Amsterdam-based startup Framer, a platform that lets teams build and manage websites without coding, has raised $100 million in Series D funding at a $2 billion valuation, led by long-time partners Meritech and Atomico.
- Founded in 2015 by Koen Bok and Jorn van Dijk, Framer is a no-code platform for designing and launching professional websites. Unlike traditional web development tools, Framer allows teams to build high-performance, brand-defining websites without relying on developer-heavy workflows.
- The platform combines a flexible design canvas with integrated tools such as a CMS, analytics, A/B testing, funnel tracking, live collaboration, and enterprise security, enabling companies to design, launch, and scale entire .com sites end-to-end.
- The startup’s team spans Amsterdam, San Francisco, New York, and Barcelona. Framer provides designers and marketers with an intuitive interface to drag, drop, and customize components, while the backend manages performance, hosting, and security.
- Framer is used by hundreds of thousands of websites, including startups and companies like Perplexity, Miro, Scale AI, Huel, Zapier, and Mixpanel, for building and managing fast, scalable sites.
Details of the deal
- The Series D round was led by Meritech and Atomico, both prominent venture capital firms, with participation from WiL, a European VC focused on tech startups, and HV, a Dutch venture firm backing growth-stage companies.
- Framer plans to use its $100 million funding to accelerate US expansion, enhance its AI capabilities, and scale its platform, aiming to become the leading solution for companies to build and manage their entire websites efficiently.
"We’re grateful to our community of makers, customers, and partners who have helped us reach this milestone, and to our investors who continue to believe in the mission. Most of all, thank you to the entire Framer team," Framer's founders commented in a statement.
