UK staffing AI firm Flexzo secures $12M Series A to transform healthcare workforce management

Healthcare startup Flexzo, which provides an AI platform to optimise hospital staffing, has secured $12 million in a Series A funding round led by Octopus Ventures with participation from Fuel Ventures.

  • Founded in 2020 by Alex Smith, Flexzo develops an AI-driven workforce management platform for healthcare providers.
  • The system is designed to optimize staffing by matching available clinicians to shifts based on real-time availability, location, and compliance requirements. It automates internal shift fulfillment, supports insourcing projects, and provides access to a network of over 100,000 pre-vetted healthcare professionals.
  • The platform enforces clinical rules, validates credentials, and routes demand to the most cost-effective and safe staffing option automatically. It is used by NHS Trusts, private hospitals, and community pharmacies to reduce reliance on external agencies, streamline hiring processes, and improve roster accuracy while maintaining compliance.

Details of the deal

  • Flexzo Ai plans to use the $12 million to expand its presence in the UK and enter the US market, improve its AI platform for healthcare workforce management, and hire more staff to support growth and operations.

"This investment is a strong vote of confidence in our mission to transform healthcare workforce management through agentic AI. Our platform is already supporting NHS Trusts, and this funding will help us scale further across the UK while accelerating our expansion into the United States," Flexzo AI's team, commented on LinkedIn.
