Swedish venture capital firm Creandum has closed its eighth fund at $750 million. The vehicle will invest in early-stage technology companies from pre-seed to Series A, with a focus on Europe and an increasingly global reach.
- Founded in 2003 , Creandum has spent more than two decades backing early-stage technology companies. The firm follows a generalist investment strategy and focuses on disciplined fund sizes, which it identifies as central to its investment approach.
- Creandum VIII will support founders building technology companies amid rapid changes across industries, particularly as artificial intelligence reshapes existing markets and creates new opportunities for startups.
- The fund received backing from institutional investors, including university endowments, pension funds and charitable foundations. Creandum has not disclosed individual limited partners.
- Alongside the fund's close, Creandum highlighted its growing US presence. The firm has tripled the size of its San Francisco-based team over the past two years, as it expands from a European early-stage investor into a global venture capital firm.
- The firm is also integrating AI into its own operations, rebuilding its sourcing, investment decision-making and portfolio support processes around the technology.
