Madrid- and Munich-based Causa Prima, which develops an AI-powered platform to automate financial processes between businesses, has raised $20 million in a seed funding round led by Base10 Partners, with participation from QED Investors, FJ Labs, Creandum, Kfund, and Borusan Ventures.
- Founded in 2026 by Maex Ament, Henrik Gebbing, and Philip Stanislaus, Causa Prima is building a network of AI agents that automate financial interactions between buyers and suppliers, including invoice approvals, dispute resolution, payment negotiations, and early-payment discounts.
- The platform enables AI agents to handle communications and negotiate payment terms between businesses, aiming to reduce manual work for finance teams and improve working capital management. The company reports more than 3,000 active accounts across its business networks.
- The latest investment comes three months after Causa Prima raised $10 million in a pre-seed round led by Creandum, bringing its total funding to $30 million.
Details of the deal
- With the fresh capital, Causa Prima plans to expand into the US by opening an office in New York and continue developing its autonomous finance platform.
