Prague-based developer-first PaaS Zerops has secured $500,000 in a pre-seed round. The investment came from Presto Ventures and Gi21 Capital, as Vestbee was told.
- Co-founded in 2017 by Ales Rechtorik and Jan Saidl, Zerops develops a platform for developing, deploying, and running applications. It is designed for solo developers and small- to medium-sized teams to help them simplify the development process for projects of all sizes and complexities.
- Zerops allows developers to focus on writing code without worrying about managing infrastructure, such as networking, databases, storage, or server maintenance. It provides a robust infrastructure for each project, with auto-scaling capabilities to ensure optimal performance. Additionally, Zerops enables the creation of non-production environments identical to production ones, helping keep costs in check.
“Zerops is the very definition of a ‘by developers for developers’ product. The core of our vision, as well as our guiding principle, is making developers' lives easier. While staying humble and well aware of the behemoth of the cloud industry, we’re working hard to gain the trust of the early adopters in the developer community,” CEO and co-founder at Zerops, Ales Rechtorik, stated this in a press release.
- Prague-based Zerops employs a team of nine and has been seen thousands of deploys.
Details of the deal
- The funding round was backed by Prague-based Presto Ventures, a venture capital firm that invests in tech startups across the CEE region, focusing on early-stage B2B software startups and online marketplaces, and Gi21 Capital. This funding also marked the establishment of a strategic partnership for Zerops — with VSHosting's global parent company, Contabo Group.
"Given the massive use of AI in programming, developers are now developing much faster and more efficiently. Naturally, they're also looking for ways to easily acquire and set up the infrastructure for their projects to run on. At Presto, we like spin-offs. There's a few in our portfolio already, and so far, Zerops is the one that brings us the most joy with its velocity and user interest," Founder and Managing Partner at Presto Ventures, Premysl Rubes, commented in a statement.
- With the fresh capital raised, Zerops will add first-class integration with popular frameworks and open-source software, expand knowledge, enhance the onboarding process, and to gather traction in preparation for global expansion.
