Bulgarian cybersecurity startup WiseBee secures $2.5M pre-seed round

Sofia-based WiseBee, an AI-driven autonomous cybersecurity platform for mid-sized organizations, has raised $2.5 million in one of the largest pre-seed rounds in CEE, as Vestbee was informed.

  • Founded in 2024 by Stoyan Stoyanov and Taha Kazi, WiseBee develops an autonomous cybersecurity platform that leverages AI agents to continuously scan networks, endpoints, cloud environments, and vendors for threats.
  • Using machine learning and threat intelligence, it identifies risks in real time and automatically performs remediation actions like device isolation or vulnerability patching.
  • The software integrates with existing security systems, offering mid-sized organizations continuous proactive protection while reducing the need for manual involvement.

"Most cybersecurity tools are reactive, siloed, and designed for large enterprises with hefty budgets. We are building something fundamentally different: an autonomous system of security agents that detect and mitigate risks around the clock - 24/7," explains Stoyan Stoyanov, co-founder of WiseBee.

Details of the deal

  • The investemnt saw support from Frontline Ventures, a Dublin-based venture capital firm that invests in European tech startups and supports their expansion into the American market.
  • The pre-seed round also saw participation from BrightCap Ventures, a Sofia-based early-stage venture capital firm that invests in startups with a focus on AI, Big Data, medical technology, blockchain, and financial sector technologies. Recently, BrightCap completed the first close of its new fund, BrightCap II, which targets €60 million to invest in founders from SEE.

"Wisebee delivers on all fronts, thanks to Stoyan and Taha's deep industry expertise, AI innovations, and customer-first approach. We are delighted to partner with Wisebee as they bring their product to thousands more organisations and continue growing their team with top AI talent," claims Dimitar Korsakov, Principal at BrightCap Ventures.

  • WiseBee will use the $2.5 million pre-seed funding to enhance its platform’s autonomous capabilities, expand integrations with existing security systems, and grow its team to support product-led growth.
  • The funding will also help accelerate the development and deployment of its AI-powered cyber risk mitigation platform and lay the groundwork for future funding rounds and a community-driven approach to cybersecurity.
