New VC Funds
- UK-based Felix Capital closes its 4th $600M fund. The firm will focus on backing European/North American commerce-driven startups along with: B2B tools, fintech/blockchain, future of work and sustainability innovation.
- A Romanian software house Rebeldot kickstarts a venture arm under the name of RebelVentures. The fund will be offering a tech-for-equity for their portfolio meaning - you’ll be getting an additional product team to build your startup!
- Amsterdam-based Acrobator Ventures closes a new €30M early stage fund. The team will back B2B/B2C seed and pre-seed startups from CEE and CIS. The average ticket size of theirs is €0.2M - €1.5M
- Digital asset security startup Ledger and Cathay Innovation team up to launch a web3 fund - Ledger Cathay Capital. The fund will invest in seed to series A crypto startups across the globe.
CEE Startup Funding Rounds & Acquisitions
- The thin film battery startup The Batteries raises 35M PLN to kickstart the mass production of their product. The investment was led by Aper Ventures and followed by JR Holding ASI S.A. , EIT InnoEnergy and UAB Electronics System
- Estonian forest management and preservation startup Timbeter raises €500k to fund its growth efforts. The investment was made by Future Investment Initiative.
- A debt-recovery startup Debster.ai raises a pre-seed phase to kickstart the company. The round was led by Carlson ASI EVIGAlfa.
Startup Calls
- Riga’s Urban Mobility Incubator is looking for local early-stage startups in the field of mobility. The program will contain training sessions, lectures and hands-on practices along with a €5k grant. The applications are open till the 17th of June.
- Ukrainian Startup Fund creates a support program for dual-use startup technologies across defense, cybersec, healthcare, infrastructure and education. When accepted, your startup will get up to $35k in equity-free grant to develop it’s solution.
- A Ukrainian tech co-founding company Genesis teams up with Meta in launching a StartUp Academy for CEEs founders and C-level executives. The 2-month program aims to provide the tools and knowledge required to build and scale a profitable tech businesses and is taught by experienced entrepreneurs. The deadline for applications is set on the 1st of July.
Other
EU launches a €20M initiative which will support Ukraine’s deep tech startups disbursed through the European Innovation Council. The program will support around 200 companies, giving up to €60k in grants to each of the supported startups.
