New Venture Funds:
- French VC Elaia announces a close of a €200M fund to invest in pre-seed to series B startups across Europe/Israel. The firm will consider startups throughout cybersecurity, cloud Infrastructure, digital life sciences, fintech/insurtech, and digital transformation, investing anywhere from €1M to €15M into each opportunity.
- UK's Playfair Capital holds the final close of its third, $70M funds to focus on pre-seed startups across the UK and Europe. The firm is open to reviewing opportunities from all sectors and industries and generally invests up to £750K into each startup.
- German VC Beyond Capital closes a €21.5M debut fund to invest in B2B and B2B fintech/marketplaces/SaaS. The firm will consider startups from all over the globe and invest between €200K and €500K into each company.
- Solo GP Anamcara Capital raises $10.6M debut fund to invest in B2B startups across Europe. The firm will invest around $200K into each opportunity it pursues.
- Immigrant-founder-focused No Label Ventures announces a new fund to invest in pre-seed and seed-stage founders across Europe. The firm will put between $150K to $200K into each opportunity and share some of the fund's profits.
- German venture studio for maritime tech Flagship Founders raises €3.5M to expand the team and future investments.
Startup Funding Rounds & Acquisitions:
- Lithuanian single-cell analysis biotech Atrandi raises a €4.5M round to further its global expansion. The round was led by Vsquared Ventures while being joined by Practica Capital and Metaplanet.
- Global payment service enterprise Ingenico acquires a Bulgarian software Point of Sale platform Phos to integrate startup's solutions into Ingenico offerings. Although the transaction size remains undisclosed, the Phos has raised a total of €3.3M over the company's history.
- Romanian video commerce platform Videowise lands a $3M seed round to reinvest in business expansion. The round was led by Slack Fund, with participation from Founder Collective, Underline Ventures, mu ventures, Ratio Ventures, and several prominent business angels.
- Latvian nano-coating components producer Naco Technologies obtains a €2.3M grant to reinvest in the company's R&D. The grant was awarded by the European Innovation Council.
- Polish IT services company Euvic Group acquires Ukrainian software house Exoft to further its global expansion goals. The size of the transaction remains undisclosed.
- Slovak AI platform for the construction industry Devs raises Kč 13M to invest in product and business development. The investment was made by Czech Founders VC, Zero Gravity Capital and Bob Lesko.
- Estonian data quality management platform LiTech raises €500K to fuel the startup's expansion and product development. The investors for the round remain undisclosed.
- Lithuanian IT Edtech for children Vedilai (Teachers Lead Tech) closes a €150K round to expand in the US. The round was led by a group of business angels including Vladas Lašas, Mantas Mikuckas, Andrius Šlimas, Donatas Dailidė, and several others.
Startup Calls:
- Ukrainian co-founding company Genesis and Meta team up for the next edition of the StartUp Academy. During the 2-month program, the participating startups will get $ 110K worth of business credits, get mentorship from both tech and venture building specialists as well as get a chance of pitching in front of VCs like Flyer One Ventures, Horizon Capital, Inovo, and many more! The deadline for applications is set for the 10th of April.
- Vilnius TechFusion and ISM University of Management co-organize a Problemathon challenge. The event is open to anyone having a social and/or business problem in mind and willing to spend the weekend working on it. The 3 winning teams will get €1k grant each while having a chance to connect and work with other interesting people. The applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and the event itself takes place between the 21st and 23 of April.
- WeInvest expands its Ukrainian team. The venture builder will seek startups at the earliest stages and invest $25K to help go through the validation phase.
