London-based travel tech startup Unravel, which creates AI-powered shoppable videos for travel apps, has raised $7 million in a Series A funding round led by Nauta. The fresh capital will be used to strengthen its AI capabilities and boost video-commerce conversions.
- Founded in 2020 by Vijay Anand, Abhimanyu Dasgupta, and Sunny Swetank, Unravel uses AI to create shoppable, TikTok-style videos for travel apps.
- The platform transforms traditional travel experiences into engaging, interactive content, making it easy for users to discover, plan, and book trips in one place.
- Unravel’s solution integrates seamlessly into apps via a simple API, allowing brands to create captivating content that inspires travel and drives bookings.
"The way people discover travel has changed. They don’t sift through endless search results — they get inspired by creators who are exploring the world and sharing their experiences. Unravel bridges that gap, turning creator-shot videos into seamless, AI-powered booking experiences," explains Vijay Anand, CEO and co-founder of Unravel.
- According to the startup, its platform is already powering leading banks, insurers, and telecom operators across Asia and the Middle East, with active expansion into Europe and the UK. Customers have experienced a 4x increase in daily active users and a 10x increase in conversions on their applications.
Details of the deal
- The Series A round was led by Nauta, a London-based venture capital firm managing over €550 million in assets, supporting B2B companies across various sectors such as retail tech, revenue tech, fintech, insurtech, productivity, health tech, and more.
"Unravel has combined both of these market changes, with the addition of an AI booking assistant, to produce an incredibly popular white-label solution for customers looking to add new revenue streams. Now the team is looking to expand across Europe and all of us at Nauta are so excited to support that journey," General Partner at Nauta, Carles Ferrer, commented.
- The round also saw support from Slingshot Ventures, Active Partners, Antler, Nodes, Upscalers, Brook Bay Capital, LLC, and The Players Fund, with participation from business angels, Kees Koolen and Olivier Bisserier.
- With the fresh funding, Unravel plans to strengthen its AI capabilities to enhance video-commerce conversions and expand its London-based team. The company aims to hire top talent in AI/ML, enterprise partnerships, and digital commerce.
