Ukrainian Himera secured $525k to produce tactical communication systems

Ukrainian defense tech startup, Himera that develops EW-protected tactical communication systems has announced the raise of $525,000 from angel investors.

  • Himera was founded in 2022 by Mykhailo Rudominskyi, as Russia launched the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The startup is developing secure communication radio stations that are used as part of the operational awareness technique. The serial production of the stations was launched in April 2023.
  • Based in Kyiv and Tallinn, Himera’s handsets are developed especially to meet the Ukrainian defense forces’ needs during the war since the product’s battery functions up to 4 days without recharging, highly resistant to electronic warfare, has low chances of detection, and has a traffic encryption with a 256-bit key.
  • Himera was backed with $525,000 investment from business angels, including co-founder and CEO at United Angels Network, Ivan Dmytrasevych, СЕО and co-founder UAi Labs, Oleksandr Reminnyi, Linkup Studio CEO, Andriy Sambir, and Network VC, Nataliya Sambir, among others.
  • Previously, Himera received a grant of $10,000, after they won an award from IT-Arena in 2023. With the fresh $525,000, the startup aims to focus on providing the Ukrainians Defense Forces with a new version of the product, as well as obtaining  governmental authorization during the current year.

All this money will be used to strengthen the products we supply to the Ukrainian defense forces. The comms will be better, there will be more of it, and the prices for our systems for Ukraine will continue to be as low as possible. - Mykhailo Rudominskyi, co-founder of Himera, commented on LinkedIn.
