Today, we are going deep into interesting CEE funding rounds that took place in September, the last month of Q3 2021. This time SaaS, e-commerce, financial services, real estate and AI attracted most investor's interests.

EstateGuru

Location: Tallinn, Estonia
Launch date: 2013
Funding Round: Series A €5.8M
Funding Source: TMT Investments, J&T IB and Capital Markets, Swiss Immo Lab, Verve Ventures
Total funding received: €8.5M

Estonia-based, EstateGuru is an European marketplace for short-term, property-backed loans allowing investors to reach higher investment returns rates while maintaining transparency and security. Startup has recently raised €5.8M during a Series A round led by  well-recognized TMT Investments and accompanied by J&T IB and Capital Markets, Swiss Immo Lab and Verve Ventures. EstateGuru is currently active in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Spain, Germany, Sweden and Finland, while secured funds will be allocated to expansion into the UK and Netherlands.

Printify is a Latvian marketplace, instantly connecting online merchants to major print-on-demand & dropshipping manufacturers worldwide thus enabling anyone to start a business and create their own unique products. Printify has recently secured an impressive series A round in the amount of €38M led by Index Ventures and accompanied by H&M Group, Virgin Group, Dreamers VC and various business angels including founders of leading technology companies like Wise, Vinted, Squarespace and RedHat. Secured funds will be allocated to further expansion.

AhoyConnect

Location: Prague, Czech Republic

Founded in 2021, Czech AhoyConnect is a startup building a community data intelligence platform with a goal to make the community a center point for the growth of organizations by enabling them to understand, scale, automate, and derive value from their community. Recently, the startup has secured a seed round in the amount of €2.5M led by Inovo Venture Partners and Kaya with the participation of Lighthouse Ventures. Acquired financing will boost the development of the platform.

SalesOn

Poland-based SalesOn, founded in 2008, is a startup providing a sales force e-training system thanks to which salesmen achieve better results, and the company owners take advantage of data-driven sales competencies automation to reduce sales expenses by up to 85%. The startup has recently secured a seed round in the amount of €900k led by Next Road Ventures and the funds will be used for the development and international expansion of the company's online sales training platform.

Jeff

Location: Riga, Latvia

Latvian Jeff is a fintech startup that provides various users with a personalized loan broker that matches borrowers and lenders and therefore making financing accessible for everyone.

Fintech has recently secured a seed round in the amount of €1.2M led by J12 Ventures and among other participating investors were EstBAN, iSeed Ventures, Startup Wise Guys and Toy Ventures. Raised funds will be allocated to accelerating the solution development. 

Foodsi

Location: Warsaw, Poland

Warsaw-based Foodsi, founded in 2019, is a food startup fighting food waste. The startup provides mobile application in which users can order from restaurants, bakeries or shops a package of food that wasn't bought by regular clients till the end of the working day and thus reduce the amount of wasted food. Foodsi has recently closed the seed round in the amount of €250K from AIP Seed & business angels, secured funds will be used for further development of the application, as well as increasing presence in the largest Polish cities.

Kernolab

Location: Vilnius, Lithuania

Lithuanian Kernolab, founded in 2019, is a fintech provider of banking as a service APIs to enrich banking and payment features. The startup became a bridge between fintech and non-finance businesses allowing them to create or expand current services. Kernolab has recently secured €850K in a pre-seed round led by Lighthouse Ventures and accompanied by Startup Wise Guys. Secured funds will help a startup with accelerating its business development and grow the core team.

HearMe

Location: Warsaw, Poland

Founded in 2020, Polish HearMe, is a startup offering online psychological support from psychotherapists with a business background for employees. Among offered services are 1:1 sessions with specialists, coaching and business support for managers and various webinars and workshops that give employees tools to take care of their mental health and work effectively. Recently secured funds during a seed round in the amount of €300K from Think Bigger Capital and Andreas Mihalovits from dreamfab, will be used to accelerate further growth of the company.

Vatis Tech

Location: Bucharest, Romania

Funding Source: Early Game Ventures, Sparking Capital, Malin Stefanescu (TechAngels)
Total funding received: €240K

Romanian Vatis Tech, founded in 2020, is a tech startup developing an AI-powered speech recognition platform. The company’s goal is to provide the most accurate and easy-to-use speech recognition API, for multiple fields and multiple languages. Vatis Tech has recently been supported by Romanian Early Game Ventures and Sparking Capital and also President of TechAngels - Malin Stefanescu. The secured funds will be allocated for developing the platform.

Quantum Flytrap

Location: Warsaw, Poland

Funding Round: Pre-seed €220K
Funding Source: SMOK Ventures
Total funding received: €220K

Poland-based Quantum Flytrap is a quantum computing startup with a goal to build the standard for interaction with quantum systems by developing intuitive user interfaces for quantum computing to make it an accessible & business-available technology. The recently secured funding from a pre-seed round in the amount of €220K from SMOK Ventures will be allocated to further service development.
