Paris-based Skynopy, focusing on satellite connectivity, has raised $3.1 million to develop its LEO (Low Earth Orbit) satellite operations and grow its team.
- Skynopy was founded in 2023 by Pierre Bertrand and Antonin Hirsch. The startup provides a simplified service for worldwide satellite operators by connecting their spacecraft via a hybrid network of earth-based antennas, resulting in a seamless mobile phone-like experience.
- Skynopy is developing universal connectors for ground station networks, enabling faster scaling and high-bandwidth connectivity. The company has signed contracts with French space ecosystem players like HEMERIA and CNES.
Details of the deal
- The fresh funding came from the European fund Heartcore Capital, French VC Kima Ventures, Paris-based VC Better Angel, BPI France, and business angels, including Thibaud Elziere, co-founder of Hexa, and Yohann Leroy, CEO of Maia Space.
- With this infusion, Skynopy plans to enhance its turnkey connection service for LEO satellite operators, expedite the commercial rollout of its ground station product, and expand its workforce.
