French SkyVisor secures €1.2M for its in-house wind and solar inspection software offerings

Paris-based startup SkyVisor, which develops in-house automatic drone-based inspection and asset management software for renewable energy, has raised €1.2 million in funding from Tomcat and BPIfrance. The funding will support the company's global expansion plans, as Vestbee was told.

  • Founded in 2018 by Paul Fontaine and Fabien Sauvage, SkyVisor develops software for automatic drone-based inspection and asset management in the wind and solar industries. 
  • The company specializes in in-house technology, including drone flight automation, digitalization, and AI-based defect detection. SkyVisor has inspected over 10 GW of assets annually, conducting 8,000 inspections and identifying more than 200,000 defects each year.
  • SkyVisor employs a team of 15 and works with renewable energy stakeholders like Independent Power Producers, Service Providers, and Engineering Firms to provide more efficient, accurate, and faster inspection solutions.

Details of the deal

  • The funding came from Tomcat, which helps startups from its acceleration programs find suitable talent and build a strong community, the French public investment bank BPIfrance, and Région Île-de-France, a major European business and techno hub.
  • SkyVisor will use the €1.2 million funding to expand into key markets in Europe and North America, enhance its software and AI tools, and scale its operations.
