Vienna-based healthtech scaleup XUND, which develops AI-powered, MDR-certified medical software for digital healthcare solutions, has secured €6 million in a pre-Series A funding round. The investment will drive XUND’s expansion across Europe, as Vestbee was told.
- Founded in 2018 by Tamás Petrovics, Lukas Seper, and Dr. Zoltán Tarabó, XUND develops AI-powered medical software that helps guide patients from prevention to diagnosis. Using advanced algorithms and natural language processing, it allows users to assess health risks, understand symptoms, and find the right care.
- The startup's main product, the Patient Interaction Suite, includes three tools:
- Health Check, which provides risk assessments for healthy patients
- Symptom Check, which helps users analyze symptoms and decide the next steps
- Illness Check, which identifies possible conditions based on patient data
- XUND has offices in Vienna, Budapest, and London, and a team of 40 professionals. Its products are already utilized by leading insurers, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies as the primary digital point of contact.
Details of the deal
- The funding round was led by Lead Ventures, a Budapest-based VC that launched a €100 million fund in July 2024 to support CEE startups in late seed and Series A rounds.
“We are thrilled to partner with XUND, a company that brings clarity to the most important decisions in healthcare. Their commitment to digitizing the patient journey not only enhances patient care but also streamlines operations for healthcare providers. The long-anticipated synthesis of AI technology in patient care is finally happening widely and it is truly exciting to bring down the walls between new technologies and legacy healthcare systems,” said Balázs Haszonics, Managing Partner at Lead Ventures.
- The investment also saw participation from J&T Ventures and its existing investors MassMutual Ventures, tba network, and LANA Ventures.
- XUND will use the new funds to expand across Europe, focusing on the DACH region and the UK, while advancing its MDR-certified medical devices and large language model solution, RAVE.
“The latest investment is a testimony to the hard work of our team over the past years. We are laying the foundation for a data-driven, personalized healthcare system that redefines how care is delivered — today and tomorrow," co-founder and CEO of XUND, Tamás Petrovics, stated.
