German spacetech startup OKAPI:Orbits, which develops space traffic management solutions, has raised €13 million in a seed round to expand globally. The investment was led by Ventech, with support from Matterwave Ventures and the Amadeus APEX Technology Fund.
- Established in 2018 by Kristina Nikolaus, Christopher Kebschull, and Jonas Radtke, OKAPI:Orbits develops AI-based Space Traffic Management (STM) platforms to support the entire lifecycle of space missions.
- The company provides tools for mission planning, collision avoidance, regulatory compliance, and end-of-life procedures.
- OKAPI:Orbits' platforms use advanced data fusion and artificial intelligence to identify and manage risks such as potential collisions, frequency interference, and environmental impacts.
- The company also offers simulation capabilities to support pre-launch analysis and ensure alignment with international standards and regulations.
Details of the deal
- Ventech Capital, a global venture capital firm with offices in Paris, Munich, Berlin, Helsinki, Stockholm, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, led the funding round. The firm supports tech startups with global ambitions and has made over 200 investments.

- The round also saw backing from Matterwave Ventures, the Amadeus APEX Technology Fund, and business angel Christian Miele, former chairman of the German Start-up Association.
- The fresh capital will aim to enhance OKAPI:Orbits' technical capabilities, expand its international presence, grow the team, and improve tools for simulation and regulatory compliance.
