Amesterdam-based startup LangWatch, which enhances LLM development through automated quality checks and optimization tools, has secured €1 million in pre-seed funding, led by Passion Capital, with additional backing from Volta Ventures and Antler.
- Founded in 2023 by Manouk Draisma and Rogerio Chaves, LangWatch develops a platform designed to streamline and enhance the development of large language models (LLMs).
- The platform offers automated quality checks, continuous improvement tools, and an intuitive interface, enabling AI teams to test, evaluate, and optimize LLMs efficiently.
- The startup integrates test-driven development practices to address issues of consistency, accuracy, and safety in generative AI, enabling organizations to deploy models more quickly, improve performance, and reduce costs.
- According to LangWatch, their customers have been able to test, iterate, and ship approximately 10x faster by using the LangWatch platform.
Details of the deal
- The pre-seed funding round was led by Passion Capital, a London-based venture capital firm that helps early-stage teams build outstanding digital media and technology companies.
- The round also saw participation from Volta Ventures, a Dutch VC supporting seed and early-stage internet and software startups in the Benelux region, as well as Antler, which recently closed its second Nordic fund, valued at approximately €100 million, aimed at supporting early-stage tech companies in Finland.
- The startup will use the funds to expand its platform, improve AI deployment speed and reliability, and hire talent in areas like AI research, engineering, and GTM to drive growth.
