Toulouse-based NewSpace deeptech startup Infinite Orbits, which provides autonomous satellite inspection and life-extension in GEO, has secured €40 million in funding from the EIC Fund, Matterwave Ventures, Wind Capital, Balnord, IRDI, and Newfund Capital.
- Launched in 2017 by Adel Haddoud, Infinite Orbits develops small autonomous spacecraft designed to carry out technical operations in geostationary orbit.
- The company builds servicers equipped with vision-based navigation systems that let them independently approach, inspect, and maneuver around existing satellites.
- These spacecraft are used both for close-range inspection, providing operators with independent assessments of a satellite’s condition, and for life-extension missions, during which a servicer docks with an aging satellite and assumes its propulsion tasks to keep it in orbit for several additional years.
- The firm validated its approach with its first GEO satellite, Orbit Guard #1, and is advancing a new platform, Endurance, for longer-term station-keeping missions.
Details of the deal
- The firm will use the fresh funding to expand across Europe (opening offices in Luxembourg, Spain, the UK, Germany, and Poland) and accelerate the deployment of its satellite fleet dedicated to GEO inspection and life-extension services, strengthening Europe’s space sovereignty and supporting a more resilient orbital ecosystem.
