Romania's startup Affinity Life Care raises funding to expand elderly care network across local market

Bucharest-based firm Affinity Life Care operates a network of elderly care facilities in Romania, providing long-term care, assisted living, and physiotherapy services, has secured funding from BlackPeak Capital.

  • Affinity Life Care, founded in 2019 by Dragos Nicolae Iamandoiu. The company provides long-term care, assisted living, physiotherapy, and rehabilitation services through a fully integrated model that includes daily medical supervision by general practitioners and specialists, personalized care plans, and support for patients with neurological and locomotor conditions.
  •  Its four central locations offer accommodation options ranging from single rooms to shared rooms, with services tailored to the needs of each resident, including those with Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, stroke recovery, and palliative care. 
  • The facilities maintain ongoing communication with families and focus on combining medical care with social and recreational activities to support residents’ well-being. Admission involves an assessment of medical needs to create individualized care programs.

Details of the deal

  • The funding round saw support from BlackPeak Capital, a Bulgarian private equity firm that invests in Southeast European startups and manages two funds with a total of €150 million in assets.

  • Affinity Life Care will use the new funding to open facilities in more Romanian cities, improve its medical and rehabilitation services, and support staff development to meet rising demand for elderly care.
