UK-based Synthesia raises $200M Series E at $4B valuation

London-based AI video platform Synthesia has secured $200 million in a Series E funding round, valuing the company at $4 billion.

  • Founded in 2017, the company builds AI-powered video tools that allow enterprises to create training, internal communications, and marketing content using synthetic avatars and voice. Today, its platform is used by more than 90% of Fortune 100 companies and sits at the intersection of enterprise learning, knowledge management, and generative AI.
  • The round was led by Google Ventures (GV), with participation from Evantic, the venture fund founded by former Sequoia partner Matt Miller, and Hedosophia. Existing investors NVentures (NVIDIA’s venture arm), Accel, Kleiner Perkins, New Enterprise Associates (NEA), PSP Growth, Air Street Capital, FirstMark, and MMC Ventures also took part.
  • The new capital will primarily support the development of what Synthesia describes as a new category of "conversational AI agents" for corporate learning and upskilling. Instead of one-way video consumption, these agentic systems are designed to let employees interact with company knowledge through dialogue, role-play scenarios, and tailored explanations.

"We see a rare convergence of two major shifts: AI agents becoming truly capable, and enterprises putting reskilling and knowledge sharing at the top of the board agenda," said Victor Riparbelli, co-founder and CEO of Synthesia. "Our goal is to build the category-defining company at that intersection by combining AI video with agentic experiences that solve real business problems."

  • Headquartered in London with operations across Europe and the US, Synthesia is among the UK’s most highly valued private AI companies. With this round, the startup plans to make agent-based learning a core strategic focus, while continuing to scale its core AI video platform with an emphasis on safe and responsible enterprise deployment.
