Oviva raises €200M series D to expand AI-enabled chronic care across Europe

Oviva, which delivers digital therapy for weight-related and metabolic conditions, has secured €200 million in Series D funding. The round saw support from Kinnevik, Planet First Partners, A.P. Moller Holding, Lunate, EGS Beteiligungen, Norrsken VC, and Sofina.

  • Founded in 2014 by Kai Eberhardt and Manuel Baumann, Oviva develops technology-enabled therapy programs for people with weight-related and metabolic conditions. Its platform combines a medical-device-certified app with remote care teams, including dietitians, psychologists, and clinicians, to deliver evidence-based interventions.
  • Patients are referred by general practitioners or statutory health insurers in the UK, Germany, and Switzerland. The service provides personalised treatment plans that include lifestyle coaching, behavioural support, and prescription weight-loss medication, all accessible remotely. Users can track meals, monitor progress, set health goals, and communicate with their care team through the app.
  • Oviva works directly with national health systems to streamline referrals and reduce administrative workload for healthcare providers. Fully reimbursed through public health programs, the company has treated over one million patients across Europe.

Details of the deal

  • With the €200 million Series D funding, Oviva plans to broaden its digital therapy offerings to include hypertension and type 2 diabetes, strengthen its AI-powered platform to support clinicians and personalize patient care, and accelerate integration with European health systems to increase accessibility and reimbursement coverage.
