French dental robotics startup Lupin Dental raises €15M Series A round

Montpellier-based dental robotics startup Lupin Dental has raised €15 million in a Series A funding round led by Fynveur, which invested €10 million, alongside continued support from existing shareholders and new private investors. The financing was also complemented by a loan from Bpifrance.

  • Founded in 2019 by Dr. Galip Gürel and Dr. Stefen Koubi, Lupin Dental is developing robotic technology designed to bring supervised automation to veneers and other complex dental treatments.
  • The company’s Lupin® Robotic System is a supervised automated robotic platform for minimally invasive tooth preparation procedures for aesthetic veneers. The system is currently approved for clinical use in India and the UK, but is not yet approved for clinical use in the US or EU.

Details of the deal

  • The new funding will support the company’s next phase of growth, including expanding partnerships with academic and medical institutions and strengthening collaboration with dental professionals and Dental Service Organizations (DSOs) to accelerate the adoption of its robotic technology.

“Lupin Dental opens a new chapter with this important milestone. It reflects our investors’ confidence in our vision and enables us to accelerate our mission to transform dental care through innovation," said co-founders Galip Gürel and Stefen Koubi.

  • As part of the investment, Fynveur and its advisor Invus will provide strategic and operational support, with Invus also joining Lupin Dental’s Board.
