UK- and Budapest-based Kodesage, an enterprise AI startup, has raised $6.6 million in a seed funding round led by VentureFriends, with participation from Portfolion and angel investors including Christian Szegedy and Mario Götze, as Vestbee was informed.
- Founded in 2024 by Gergely Dombi, Miklos Szurdi, and Gyorgy Szilagyi, Kodesage develops an on-premise AI platform designed to help regulated enterprises modernize legacy software systems by bringing together code, databases, documentation, and ticketing data into a continuously updated knowledge layer that supports AI-driven understanding and system operations.
- The platform is used across heavily regulated industries including banking, insurance, telecoms, energy, transport, and government, where mission-critical systems often run on long-standing technologies such as COBOL, Oracle Forms, PL/SQL, PowerBuilder, and RPG.
- Kodesage operates fully within customer environments and enables automated discovery of complex codebases, generation of living documentation, dependency mapping, migration support such as Oracle Forms to Oracle APEX with reported speed improvements of up to 3×, automated test generation, and AI-assisted production support.
Details of the deal
- The funding will be used to expand the company’s go-to-market efforts across the United States and Europe, while also strengthening its engineering and product teams to advance its long-term goal of building self-healing enterprise software systems.
