San Francisco-based medtech startup Andromeda Surgical has raised $15 million in a Series A round led by Standard Capital, with participation from JSK Investments, Y Combinator, VOX Capital, Lingotto Innovation, Alumni Ventures, WestWave Capital, and other investors, as Vestbee was informed.
- Founded in 2023 by Nick Damiano and Kartik Tiwari, Andromeda Surgical is developing an autonomous surgical platform designed to expand access to specialized procedures and reduce the training time required for surgeons.
- The company initially focuses on HoLEP, a specialized urological procedure.
- The platform is designed to enable hospitals to perform specialized procedures without relying on a narrowly focused expert being available on site.
- Andromeda is entering its commercial phase and plans to use the fresh capital to advance regulatory processes, manufacture and deploy commercial units, and further develop its autonomous surgical capabilities.
