Spanish startup Health Lean Analytics raises €2.1M to expand into the US

Barcelona-based Health Lean Analytics (HLA) has raised €2.1 million in funding, including a €1.4 million seed round backed by a mix of private investment and public financing.

  • Established by Mauro Batesteza, Josep Lázaro, and Juan José Estrada, Health Lean Analytics (HLA) develops systems that automate the collection of clinical and operational data in hospitals, particularly in operating rooms, using AI, IoT and real-time analytics.
  • Its platform captures data without manual input, integrates it with existing hospital systems, and processes it through AI models to identify patterns, predict issues and generate actionable recommendations, enabling more efficient resource management, reduced errors and improved patient care.

Details of the deal

  • The round was backed by Novanta Inc., family offices including Inderhabs, Namarel Ventures, and Braincats Consulting, along with a participative loan from ENISA.
  • With the fresh funding, Health Lean Analytics plans to accelerate its international expansion, especially into the US, and strengthen its R&D capabilities to further develop its AI-driven hospital data and surgical workflow solutions.

“With this support, we will be able to initiate commercial deployment in the United States, a key market, and demonstrate how our technology transforms hospital management by increasing efficiency, safety and quality of patient care," explains Mauro Batesteza, co-founder and co-CEO.
