Paris-based Harmattan AI, which develops AI-driven autonomous defense systems, has raised $200 million in a Series B at a $1.4 billion valuation and partnered to integrate AI into future combat aircraft.
- Founded in 2024 by Mouad M’Ghari, Harmattan AI develops autonomous defense systems for military use. The company builds vertically integrated platforms that include unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), strike drones, electronic-warfare tools, and command-and-control (C2) software.
- Its technology combines autonomy and mission-system software to allow drones and other platforms to operate collaboratively, detect and intercept threats, and carry out missions with minimal human intervention. Harmattan AI’s systems are deployed with NATO and allied forces, and the company produces them at scale to meet operational demand across multiple theaters.
Details of the deal
- The fresh capital saw support from Dassault Aviation, a French aerospace company with over 10,000 military and civil aircraft delivered worldwide, including Rafale fighters, Falcon jets, and military drones.
- Harmattan AI will use the $200 million Series B to scale the global deployment of its AI‑enabled defense systems across new operational theaters, expand its product portfolio into additional domains such as drone interception, electronic warfare, and command‑and‑control platforms, and significantly increase industrial manufacturing capacity to meet rising demand from NATO and allied forces, enabling the company to deliver its ISR, autonomous UAV, and electronic‑warfare systems at military scale.
“This partnership with Dassault Aviation marks a decisive step in the emergence of a new generation of autonomous defense systems. Dassault Aviation’s trust and leadership accelerate our mission: delivering scalable, sovereign AI capabilities to allied forces. By combining frontier AI with world-class military aviation expertise, we are shaping the future of collaborative air combat. Dassault Aviation will provide its longstanding expertise in system architecture for complex military platforms, integration of mission systems in high intensity operational environments and support for international business development through its established network," explains Mouad M’Ghari, CEO and Co-Founder of Harmattan AI.
