Swiss firm Flybotix raises $10M to expand drone-based inspections for confined spaces

Lausanne-based robotics startup Flybotix, which creates drones and software for confined-space inspections in industrial and civilian settings, has secured $10 million in a Series A extension round, as Vestbee was informed.

  • Founded in 2019 by Samir Bouabdallah and Alexandre Cherpillod, Flybotix develops drone-based solutions for the inspection of confined spaces in industrial and civilian assets.
  • The company’s flagship product, the ASIO X, is a dual-rotor drone designed to operate in tight or hazardous environments, reducing the need for human entry into potentially dangerous areas.
  • The drone collects high-resolution visual data and integrates with Flybotix’s SaaS platform, which enables on-site data validation and centralized management using AI analytics.
  • This combination allows operators to perform regular inspections, detect structural or operational issues early, and make informed maintenance decisions, improving both safety and operational efficiency.

Details of the deal

  • The Series A round was backed by a renowned family office with a focus on technology investments, along with participation from existing investors led by Greeneering Invest AG.
  • Flybotix will use the Series A extension funding to expand its global reach, advance the ASIO X drone and its SaaS platform, and grow its team.

“This financing represents a major milestone for Flybotix. We are thrilled to welcome our new investors and deeply grateful for the continued support of our existing ones. This vote of confidence in Flybotix team, backed by new funding, will help accelerate the global deployment of the ASIO solution, enhance its capabilities, and enable us to deliver safer, more efficient inspection solutions for industries where reliability is essential," claims Samir Bouabdallah, CEO and co-founder of Flybotix.

  • The investment will support reaching more clients, improving inspection precision and efficiency, and strengthening operational capacity to meet rising demand for safer confined-space inspections.
