Netherlands-based company Smart Robotics, which develops AI-driven robotic systems for warehouse automation, has secured a €10 million Series A funding round to scale its operations across Europe and further develop its pick-and-place technology.
- Founded in 2015 by Heico Sandee, Smart Robotics develops industrial automation systems for warehouse environments, focusing on robotic palletizing, depalletizing and item picking.
- The company designs and builds its software in-house and combines it with off-the-shelf robotic hardware to automate manual handling tasks in logistics and production facilities. Its systems are trained and improved using operational data collected from live warehouse deployments.
- According to the company, it has installed more than 120 systems across 15 countries and five industries, with robots operating at up to 1,000 picks per hour and an average uptime of 99.5%. It also reports more than 1 billion picks completed in production environments.
- The systems are typically integrated into existing warehouse operations and are used across sectors including food, e-commerce, retail and third-party logistics, where they handle repetitive goods movement tasks in inbound and outbound flows.

- The Series A was led by Rotterdamse Havendraken, with support from Innovation Industries and Dutch family office Ernij Next.
