Doctorsa lands €1M to bring instant doctor access to travellers worldwide

Milan-based healthtech firm Doctorsa, which provides remote healthcare access for travellers, has secured €1 million in seed funding led by PranaVentures, with participation from Vento and 40Jemz Ventures.

  • Established in 2023 by Nadia Neytcheva and Francesco Maria Serino, Doctorsa enables users to submit their medical concerns, receive responses from available doctors, select a provider, and complete video consultations online.
  • The service is designed to help travellers overcome challenges such as language barriers, unfamiliar healthcare systems, and difficulties accessing timely medical support in foreign countries.
  • Doctorsa addresses common non-emergency health issues experienced during travel, including infections, respiratory conditions, gastrointestinal problems, skin conditions, and other urgent care needs.
  • Following consultations, doctors can provide medical guidance and, where appropriate, prescriptions that patients can obtain from local pharmacies.
  • The platform has built a network of more than 550 doctors across over 40 countries, offering an on-demand healthcare model without requiring traditional subscriptions. Alongside its telemedicine service, Doctorsa runs a medical fellowship programme that allows international students to gain experience within European healthcare systems by shadowing doctors and nurses.

Details of the deal

  • The €1 million seed investment will support Doctorsa’s international expansion, strengthen its presence in existing markets, and accelerate the development of its B2B offering for travel companies, insurers, and employers.
  • The company will also invest in its AI-powered booking infrastructure, enabling users to access and arrange medical consultations more efficiently through digital platforms and AI assistants.
