French quantum software startup ColibriTD has raised €4 million in a Seed round led by Earlybird Venture Capital, with participation from SymbiaVC and Medin VC. The investment will help the company advance its technology, grow its team, expand partnerships, and enter new international markets.
- Founded in 2019 by Laurent Guiraud and Hacène Goudjil, ColibriTD develops quantum software for multiphysics simulation. Its H-DES (Hybrid Differential Equation Solver) technology uses a hybrid quantum-classical approach to solve partial differential equations used in fields such as fluid dynamics, materials science, electromagnetics, and financial modelling.
- The company's hardware-agnostic platform is compatible with quantum computing providers including IBM, AWS Braket, IQM, IonQ, and Quobly, allowing customers to use different quantum systems for their applications.
- ColibriTD has completed seven co-construction projects across six sectors, including defense and aerospace, space and climate science, semiconductors, nuclear energy, automotive, and quantitative finance. Its QUICK-PDE Qiskit Function is also available through IBM's Qiskit Function Catalog.
Details of the deal
- ColibriTD will also use the capital to develop hardware, academic, and industrial partnerships and support its international expansion.
- The company currently employs around 20 people, including approximately 12 PhDs, and is looking to work with more companies in sectors such as finance, defense, aerospace, automotive, energy, and semiconductors.
